The Client

Harvard Business School is the graduate business school of Harvard University in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. The school offers a large full-time MBA program, doctoral programs, HBX and many executive education programs. For their state-of-the-art addition, Klarman Hall, SullyMac lent expertise to construction of a new 76,000 square foot building with 1,000 seat lecture hall, lobby/function space with breakout seating areas, three level support space housing offices, lounges, and dressing rooms.

The Project

The project scope involved construction of a new 76,000 square foot building with a 1,000 seat lecture hall, lobby/function space with breakout seating areas, three level support space housing offices, lounges, and dressing rooms. Team SullyMac was involved in the early stages of the design and assisted the design group with budgeting and value engineering. The team met the construction's unique requirements for sound and vibration isolation, and coordinated with all MEP trades. State-of-the-art lighting and dimming packages, coordinated with theatrical, audio visual, and lighting consultants along with designers and engineers.

The Execution

Team SullyMac handled electrical installation, audio visual installation, HVAC controls, and security installation for the project. The project featured state-of-the-art technology, which enabled connections between scholars and global thought leaders. The stage and backstage areas featured expanded capacity, acoustics, and equipment for spoken-word, film, and cultural events. The building is complete with a multi-purpose foyer and pre-function reception space, with a flexible floor design to accommodate events with up to 1,000 guests.
